About creativity

I have always been interested in the creative side of music, and particularly improvisation. There is something special about getting into the "zone" when music presents itself spontaneously in the moment. Capturing such moments is sometimes problematic as personal recall is often vague and misses the magic.  I now usually turn a microphone on when I launch an improvisation session, just in case a gem appears that is worth mining and polishing.

I have also enjoyed using some electronic assistance for various projects.  I have an M-AUDIO 88-key electric piano for creating digital layers which can be transformed into orchestral sounds by using editing and production tools such as Garageband on the Apple Mac.  I also use MuseScore to transcribe any worthwhile improvisations into music score form.

In this section of the site I include some of my experiments and improvisations that have resulted in compositions that I think are worth sharing.
